The new Virtual Media advantage for Avocent's DSR line gives administrators virtual media capability through Avocent's DSView® 3 software, locally and remotely. Administrators can remotely load software by mapping a local removable media or mass storage device to a remote server. This allows file transfers, application and OS patches, and diagnostic testing from a CD. Select Virtual Media, then select the drive on your machine you want seen on the remote server, quick and simple. Floppy drives, CD, DVD or flash drive - through your DSView® 3 software your local removable drives can instantly be mapped to your Virtual Media enabled DSR (see list on the right). With the click of your mouse any or all of your local drive can instantly be available to the remote server as though it were one of its own drives.
